Toronto 228th Battalion
The Arenas franchise existed primarily because the old
NHA owners wanted to moved forward without the existing Toronto franchises, while preserving a Toronto franchise. Both the
Blueshirts and the 228th Battalion were removed from
1916-17 NHA schedule midway through the season.
